SOMS Cardiology Summer School
There’s no such thing as too much cardiology – that’s why we decided to take things to another level. SOMS Cardiology Summer School is a project where medical students in their clinical years will have 5 days to discover an up-to-date, comprehensive approach to cardiovascular pathology. Throughout the week, participants will attend exclusive lectures and workshops intended to help them understand the integrated care pathways for patients and get familiar with essential diagnostic and follow-up procedures. We’ll set aside some time for getting to know each other as well – a bunch of cardiology enthusiasts need to keep close.
We have prepared a comprehensive programme that will lead you through all the aspects of cardiology:
- Heart Physiology with Virtual Reality – immerse yourself in the Virtual Reality setting and explore the cardiac physiology and pathology from the inside of the heart!

- Pharmacology class – here you will learn about the up-to-date treatment options for the most common diseases that you will meet in the clinical setting

- Echocardiography – learn the basis of echocardiography hands-on

- This workshop will be held by Radu Andrei, MD and Cosmin Cojocaru, MD from Floreasca Emergency Hospital
- ECG interpretation – at this workshop you will learn the electrocardiogram interpretation by going through a series of ECGs, from the basics to the more complex ones

- Cardiac surgery – on Friday, you will enter the operating room of Monza Hospital and assist to the surgeries programmed for that day
